Qualifying Totals — FAQs
What is a qualifying total?
A qualifying total is the minimum combined total (squat + bench press + deadlift, or the relevant single lift) you need to hit at a sanctioned meet to be eligible for a championship. It depends on your federation, the championship level, your equipment division, sex, age class, and bodyweight class.
Which federations are covered here?
British Powerlifting Union (BPU), ABPU, British Powerlifting, and WRPF UK. Each federation publishes its own totals, so always make sure you have picked the correct one.
Are these totals official?
Yes — they are taken from each federation's published qualifying total sheets. Federations can update their totals between seasons, so treat this as guidance and always confirm against your federation's current official documents before entering a meet.
Why can't I find a total for British Powerlifting Open Full Power?
From 2025, British Powerlifting's Open SBD (Full Power) category has no fixed qualifying total. Places are filled through an invitation and application procedure rather than a kg target, so no number is shown.
