Learn to squat with confidence
The squat is one of the best exercises you can do. It builds strength in your legs, hips and core, and helps with everyday things like climbing stairs, lifting and staying mobile as you get older. It’s also an exercise a lot of people feel unsure about, or avoid altogether.
This workshop is two relaxed, focused hours on just the squat. If you’ve never squatted before, we’ll teach you from scratch. If you already squat but aren’t sure you’re doing it right, or it doesn’t feel comfortable, we’ll help you sort it out. And if you’ve been training for years and want a fresh pair of eyes on your technique, we can help with that too.
Coached by Jason and Helen
The workshop is run by Jason and Helen, who own Iron Raven and coach here every day. Between them they’ve spent decades helping people of every age and ability get stronger, from complete beginners taking their first steps in the gym to experienced lifters looking to improve.
They’ll take the time to get to know you, answer every question, however basic it seems, and make sure you leave feeling more confident than when you arrived.
What we’ll cover
Finding a stance that feels comfortable and suits your body
Bodyweight and goblet squats before moving to the barbell, if that’s right for you
Breathing and bracing so you feel stable and supported
How low to go, and how to get there comfortably and safely
Common problems like knees caving in, heels lifting or losing balance, and how to fix them
Simple exercises to keep improving after the workshop
Who it’s for
Never squatted before? We’ll start from the very beginning, at your pace, with Jason or Helen beside you.
Squat already, but not sure about your technique? We’ll check your form, answer your questions and help it feel more comfortable and solid.
Experienced lifter? We’ll fine-tune the details and help you get stronger.
You don’t need to be strong, fit or experienced. Just come as you are.
