These terms cover your use of the Powerlifting Meet Day iOS app ("the app"), made by Jason Swalwell, trading as Iron Raven ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the app you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
These terms sit alongside Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which also applies. If the two conflict, Apple's agreement wins on anything it covers.
1. What the app does
Meet Day is a meet-day tool for powerlifting coaches. It records lifters, attempts, results, flights, weigh-in details, qualifying totals and records, and works out totals, what a lifter needs and bodyweight-adjusted points.
2. Your licence
We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by Apple's usage rules. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell or redistribute the app, except where the law allows it.
3. Free version and the full unlock
The app is free to download. The free version lets you run one upcoming competition with one lifter on your roster, for example to track your own meet.
The full unlock is a single, one-time in-app purchase with no subscription. It unlocks unlimited competitions and lifters on your Apple ID and, where Family Sharing is turned on, for your family group.
- Apple processes the payment. Its terms, prices and refund policy apply. To ask for a refund, go to reportaproblem.apple.com.
- If you reinstall the app or use a new device, use Settings > Restore purchases.
- We may change what's in the free version in future updates. We won't take away anything you've already paid for.
4. Check the numbers
The app does its best to calculate totals, best lifts, what's needed, qualifying status, records and points correctly, but it depends on what you enter and it can make mistakes.
- Official results come from the meet, meaning the referees, the scoring table and your federation. The app isn't a substitute for them.
- Always check attempt declarations, rack heights and deadlines with the meet's own officials and paperwork.
- Qualifying totals and records are what you enter. We don't supply or check them. Check them against your federation's current standards.
- Points (DOTS, IPF GL, Glossbrenner and Wilks 2) use the published formulas. GL uses the classic (raw) coefficients. Federations may round or apply formulas differently, so their official scores take priority.
Meet Day isn't affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the IPF, British Powerlifting, OpenPowerlifting or any other federation or organisation. Their names are used only to describe the formulas and standards the app works with.
5. Lifting is at your own risk
The app is an organisational tool. It doesn't give medical, training or safety advice. Choosing attempts and deciding whether a lifter should lift is the responsibility of the coach and lifter.
6. Information about your lifters
The information you enter about lifters (such as names, bodyweight, sex, weight class, attempts and results) stays on your device. We never receive it. See the privacy policy.
If you keep information about other people in the app, you're responsible for having their permission, or another lawful reason, to do so, and for looking after it. That includes anything you share or export from the app.
7. Your data and backups
Your data is stored only on your device. We can't see it, recover it or restore it.
- If you delete the app, lose your device or choose Delete my data, your data may be gone for good.
- Use Settings > Export backup to save a copy regularly, and keep it somewhere safe.
- Results and backups you share through the iOS share sheet go wherever you send them. We have no control over them once they leave the app.
8. Acceptable use
Don't use the app to break the law, to infringe anyone's rights or to store information you have no right to keep.
9. Updates and availability
We may update, change or stop offering the app, or parts of it, at any time. We'll try to keep your data working across updates, but please keep backups. The app needs a supported version of iOS.
10. Our liability to you
We provide the app "as is". We don't promise it will always be available, error-free or suitable for every competition or federation.
As far as the law allows:
- we aren't liable for losses that weren't a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms;
- we aren't liable for lost data, missed attempts, missed qualifications or records, or competition results;
- our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the app, if anything.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law. Nothing in them affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
11. Ending these terms
You can stop using the app at any time by deleting it. If you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, your licence to use the app ends.
12. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will also be mentioned in the app's release notes. If you keep using the app after a change, you accept the new terms.
13. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you still have the protection of your local consumer law and can bring claims in your local courts.
