Powerlifting Meet Day is made by Iron Raven ("we"). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the Powerlifting Meet Day iOS app. It sits alongside our terms of use.
The short version
Powerlifting Meet Day doesn't collect, send or share any personal data. Everything you enter stays on your device. The only thing the app sends is anonymous crash and error reports, so we can fix problems.
What the app stores
The app stores the following only on your device, in the app's own storage:
- the competitions you create (name, date, venue, federation and notes)
- your roster of lifters (names, coach names, sex, meet dates and goal totals)
- for each lifter at each meet: bodyweight, weight class, rack heights, attempts, results and flights
- the qualifying totals and records you enter
- your settings, such as kilograms or pounds
We have no servers for this app and no way to see this information. It is never included in crash reports.
Sex is used only to work out bodyweight-adjusted points (DOTS, IPF GL, Glossbrenner and Wilks 2), because those formulas are different for men and women. It's optional; if you leave it blank, points aren't shown.
Information about other people
Most of what you enter is about the lifters you coach. That information stays on your device and we never receive it. If you use the app to keep other people's information, you're responsible for having their permission, or another lawful reason, to do so.
Sign in with Apple (optional)
If you choose to sign in with Apple, Apple gives the app an anonymous user identifier and, the first time only, your first name if you choose to share it. Both stay on your device. The identifier is kept in the iOS Keychain and is used only to keep your data separate from other people who use the same device. We never receive it.
Purchases
The optional one-time unlock is processed by Apple through the App Store. We don't receive your payment details. The app asks Apple, on your device, whether the unlock has been purchased.
Sharing results and backups
The app only sends your data somewhere when you choose to:
- Share results creates a text summary of a lifter's or a meet's results and opens the iOS share sheet.
- Export backup creates a file of all your data and opens the iOS share sheet so you can save or send it.
Where it goes is up to you, such as Messages, Mail, Files or another app. We don't receive a copy. Once it's shared, it's handled by the app or person you sent it to.
Crash and error reports
If the app crashes or hits an unexpected error, such as failing to save, it sends a report to Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.), which we use to find and fix bugs. Reports are stored in Sentry's EU data region.
A report contains technical details: the app version, the device model and iOS version, what went wrong and where in the code, and a short trail of recent app events such as screens opened. It doesn't contain your lifters, competitions, attempts or any other data you've entered, your name, your Apple ID or your IP address. Reports aren't linked to you and aren't used for advertising or tracking. Sentry keeps them for a limited period and then deletes them.
Our legal basis for crash reports is our legitimate interest in keeping the app working reliably.
Analytics, advertising and tracking
The app contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code. Apart from crash and error reports, it makes no network requests of its own.
Backups by iOS
Like other app data, your Powerlifting Meet Day data may be included in your device's iCloud or computer backups, depending on your iOS settings. Those backups are controlled by you and Apple.
Deleting your data
Go to Settings > Delete my data to permanently delete everything the app has stored for the current profile. Deleting the app also removes all of its data from the device. Because we don't hold any of your data, there's nothing for us to delete on our side.
Your rights
Under UK and EU data protection law you have rights over your personal data, including to access it, correct it and have it deleted. Because everything you enter stays on your device, you can do all of this yourself in the app. If you have a question or concern, contact us below. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or your local data protection authority.
Children
The app isn't directed at children and doesn't knowingly collect any information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above.
